Message in a Bottle in Utah Lake
Folks, I live in Salt Lake City, and that’s very close to a lake called Utah Lake. It is a big lake, and I have always wondered whether anyone has ever sent a message in a bottle in Utah Lake? After all, messages in bottles can float around in landlocked lakes for ages before someone finds them! Like this message in a bottle from Belton Lake in Texas, which is probably 14 – 25 years old, and this 42 year old message in a bottle found in Lake Marion, South Carolina, and this one that floated in Grand Lake, OK for 23 years before being found.
Well, my question has been answered! A duck hunter named Travis has found a message in a bottle in Utah Lake that was written by two kids, Armani and Kayden. They did not give contact information or even date the letter, according to FOX 13 News In fact, we’re not even sure that they sent the message in a bottle IN Utah Lake. Instead, they may have sent it in one of the rivers that feeds Utah Lake.

Now the man who found the letter is hoping to find Armani and Kayden. That could prove difficult since they didn’t include their full names or any contact info. Instead, Armani simply asked that the finder “plz plz give this to the news”.

It looks like Armani scribbled out a phone number there, and if anyone can make it out, that would reeeeally help us fin them the old-fashioned way.
Unfortunately, I don’t have X-Ray vision, and unless you do, our best bet to find Armani and Kayden will be to share the heck out of this story until word reaches them!

Do YOU know Armani, age 11, who has three sisters and two brothers? Do you know Kayden, age 8, whose birthday is December 8th?
How Old Is This Message in a Bottle?
Travis, the man who found this message in a bottle in Utah Lake, is hoping to learn the age of the letters, according to FOX 13 News. Well, as I have explained, beer bottles sealed with wine corks don’t tend to live very long in the ocean. It may be different in a freshwater lake, but my guess is that this bottle is not terribly old. Also, the name Kayden is not a particularly old-timey name. Armani also mentions liking video games.
It’s hard to guess the exact age of this message in a bottle, but I would say less than five years for sure, and probably less than one year. But hopefully I’m wrong! Maybe it’s ten years old! Wouldn’t that be cool?
There’s only one way we will learn the age of this Utah Lake message in a bottle, and that is if we find Armani and Kayden, and that is only going to happen if y’all chip in and help this story reach them.
